Cameron Saldate
Welcome to Cameron Saldate, JFS Orlando’s new Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry Assistant!
Cameron and his family moved around a lot when he was growing up because of his dad’s job. He has lived everywhere from California (where he is from originally), to Texas, to Florida (three times), and almost even moved to Sydney, Australia. He finished school in Florida and went to Valencia College for his Associates in Science and then for his Certificate in Culinary Management. Cameron worked in the culinary industry for most of his career, most recently working at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel for three years.
As JFS Orlando’s Pantry Assistant, Cameron comes in three times a week to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry, including maintaining inventory, processing food orders and donations, stocking the Pantry, and serving clients.
“It’s been great! Everyone is very welcoming, and it definitely feels like a family of sorts. It’s great because if you have a great environment to work in, you’re going to want to do your best. So every day that I come in, I want to do as much as I can for everyone. That’s my attitude. Every day I come in with a smile, and I leave with a smile.”
Cameron currently lives in Winter Park. He continues to have a passion for cooking, but has begun shifting into the fitness arena, having recently gotten certified to be a Yoga instructor.
