On April 26, 2021, JFS Orlando welcomed its new Director of Development, Aaron Bernstein. “Aaron brings with him a wide array of experience and knowledge in the nonprofit sector and the business world, along with a unique energy we think will greatly benefit JFS,” says Philip Flynn, JFS Orlando Executive Director.
Prior to establishing his own Business Development consulting firm, Aaron was the founder and President of an international bilateral chamber of commerce serving on its Board for 3 years, and he successfully led the Miami-Dade region for the Jewish National Fund, after serving their Board of Directors in Atlanta for several years. Previously, Aaron was the Director of Development and Member Services at the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region (now Connex).
A Florida native, Aaron was raised in Israel and served in the Israel Air Force. He has a strong background in aviation, with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Aviation Safety Unit; in the travel and tourism industry; and in sports, as a founder and vice president of Atlanta-based Global Sports Ambassadors, a non-profit organization established to benefit at-risk youth through a positive-growth program utilizing intercultural relations.
Aaron has lectured on Israeli culture, business, and politics and is the past chairman of the Atlanta – Ra’anana Sister City Committee. He is fluent in Hebrew and has ran several Holocaust educational programs through Yad Vashem. Aaron loves music, cooking, theater, and sports, especially baseball.
“I am eager to engage with the Orlando community and make it my new home. JFS has been providing valuable human services to the entire community for over 40 years, and I’m proud to be a part of this team of professionals dedicated to Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World),” says Aaron.
We’re excited to have you on the JFS Orlando team, Aaron! Thank you for all of the hard work and effort you’ve already put in to help us continue serving our community.
