Community Spotlight: Lake Weston Elementary School

at Lake Weston’s Meet the Teacher event

Students and families at Lake Weston Elementary School got the chance to learn all about JFS Orlando’s programs and services at their annual Meet the Teacher event on Monday, August 8th.

As families came in to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and drop off school supplies, they also had the opportunity to check out the JFS resource table at Lake Weston Elementary’s Mustang Café. Sara Martinez, JFS Development & Marketing Associate provided information about JFS Orlando’s family of services including the Pearlman Food Pantry, Family Stabilization Program, and Counseling services.

“Lake Weston Elementary’s goal is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe and supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society,” explained the school’s Parent Engagement Liaison, Antoinette Dolvin. “JFS Orlando programs help provide that supportive environment,” she continued. “That’s why we are partnering with JFS Orlando to better equip our community with the resources to reach our goal. Relationships are EVERYTHING and this is the first step in building them!”

Thank you, Lake Weston Elementary, for inviting us to your wonderful event. We look forward to continuing our partnership and building a stronger community together!

  1. Do you accept food from neighbors for your food pantry.I normally donate to Killarney elementary school, but I would also like to donate to my neighborhood school as my grandaughter attended there as well.
