As a leader in mental health counseling and treatment, JFS Orlando is part of a network of professionals that advances issues related to the emotional well-being of those in our care. Whether it be sharing new methods of treatment or addressing a specific need within the community, JFS continues to strive to provide the most advanced treatment for our clients. One such partner is the Central Florida Postpartum Alliance. CFPA is a regional network of mental health professionals for those involved in the maternal, medical, or mental health aspects of perinatal mood or anxiety disorders. CFPA is also active in providing support to other organizations in their network by collecting hard to find items, most notably diapers.
“We have benefited greatly from our long-standing partnership with CFPA,” says JFS Orlando Clinical Director Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes. CFPA collects diapers and other urgently needed baby supplies that are not included in SNAP benefits, which are then distributed by JFS to our FSP and Pearlman Food Pantry clients in need. “Partnerships like this allow JFS to expand our reach and ability to serve the greater community,” added Ashlyn.
Next month, JFS Orlando will be hosting a CFPA private event for mental health professionals as part of our continued efforts to best serve our clients. “JFS is a blessing to clients and the community,” says CFPA member Tiffany. “Their skilled providers, staff and food pantry are vital to Central Florida. We are happy to be able to provide diapers to JFS, which has the structure in place to get those diapers to those in need and the community.”
