Shevet Agam Gets The Job Done!

Orlando’s Israel Scouts-Shevet Agam volunteering at JFS Orlando.

On Sunday, February 26th, teens from Orlando’s Israel Scouts-Shevet Agam spent some time volunteering at JFS Orlando. This group of dedicated teens learned about hunger and food insecurity, as well as the need for JFS’s Family of Services in the community, as part of our Community Partnership program.

In what can only be called enthusiastic teamwork, they stocked pantry shelves, filled bags of food to be distributed to those in need, and did some much-needed cleaning in and around our building!

I was amazed to see how much they were able to do, it was a big help” said Pearlman Pantry Assistant Kat Castro. “Everything was left clean and organized. They even cleaned inside the fridge.

Shevet Agam is a member of Friends of Israel Scouts and focuses on the core values of the Israeli Scouts Movement in Israel. Chapter Leader Aviya Gavra added that “being part of the community while helping the youth develop and maintain a strong Israeli and Jewish identity is the mission of Israel Scouts.”

After the work was done, Shevet Agam Activities Director Ayala Danieli engaged the group in a conversation about what the experience was like for them. Not surprisingly, several of the teens asked what else they can do to continue to help JFS Orlando take care of those in need.

I’m sure that this is not the last we’ve heard from this exceptional group of kids”, said JFS Director of Development & Marketing Aaron Bernstein. “We greatly appreciate Shevet Agam’s hard work and desire to help others in their community. Kol Hakavod!
