Chabad Holds Event to Benefit JFS

On Sunday, May 12th the JFS Orlando Pearlman Pantry Van made a special appearance at the Chabad of North Orlando (Nate’s Shul) for a Mother’s Day event to provide diapers, baby wipes, formula, & baby food for JFS’s Pearlman Food Pantry.

“Our congregation recognizes the importance of performing Mitzvot & Tzedakah and appreciates our partnership with Jewish Family Services for literally bringing the mitzvah of tzedakah to our synagogue.” said Rabbi Yaakov Majesky. “Building partnerships like the one between JFS and Nate’s Shul is what our community needs more of.”

Students from Chabad’s Moldau Hebrew School filled the van with generously donated items most needed by JFS clients, totaling just over 200 lbs. of baby diapers, formula, wipes, & baby food.
“It felt really good to know that we’re able to help moms on Mother’s Day and that we helped collect so many diapers for JFS” one student said. “Thank you JFS for being there for people that need our help!”

JFS Orlando is grateful to Chabad of North Orlando for hosting a “Fill The Van” event and for their continued partnership to build a stronger community together. Keep an eye out for the JFS Pantry Van’s next pop-up, it might be at an upcoming event near you…
