Jewish Family Services had a problem. It was a good problem, but a problem nonetheless. As part of the CARES Act, which was passed in March to provide economic relief during the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) made available a number of large grants community organizations could use to offer rent assistance for those in need.
